Job Title: Workday Purchasing Manager
Location: Roanoke, VA (Hybrid – 3 weeks remote / 1 week onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (Long-term with potential for extension)
Position Summary:
The Workday Purchasing Manager oversees all purchasing operations within the Workday procurement system, ensuring seamless management of purchase orders, capital orders, and vendor relationships. This role requires direct, hands-on experience with Workday Purchasing and a deep understanding of procurement, invoicing, and ERP workflows. The ideal candidate will lead the Purchasing Operations team, manage system integrations, and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all purchasing functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Workday procurement application for all purchasing functions, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex purchase order and electronic invoice matching/reconciliation issues.
- Coordinate and manage ERP system tickets and other online procurement processes.
- Review and approve all materials-related capital orders, including purchase orders, capital equipment orders, shipping charges, quantities, and pricing.
- Supervise day-to-day Purchasing Operations, including purchasing, receiving, and invoice reconciliation for MM medical and general supplies.
- Conduct performance and pricing reviews to ensure cost-effectiveness and vendor compliance.
- Oversee and conduct training programs for new buyers and purchasing staff.
- Ensure accurate coding and budget alignment for all supply requisitions to maintain budget-to-actual accuracy.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable on vendor payments, vendor master setup, and maintenance.
- Maintain an active partnership with the Contracting Department on workflows, GPO utilization, and vendor relationship management.
- Develop and maintain reporting metrics and dashboards to monitor purchasing performance.
- Act as a liaison between EDI vendors and distributors to ensure seamless procurement operations.
- Lead and supervise all staff in the Purchasing Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Direct and deep experience with Workday Purchasing is mandatory.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, electronic invoicing, and procurement processes.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts, and purchasing compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 weeks remote and 1 week onsite per month in Roanoke, VA.
- Travel expenses for the onsite week will be accommodated by the company.
