Transportation Supervisor – Night Shift

Melville, NY (Long Island)

$85,000–$105,000 + 4% 401(k) match + ESOP shares

Schedule: Wed–Sun, 6:00 PM–3:00 AM

About the Opportunity:

We’re hiring a Transportation Supervisor on behalf of a growing ESOP company with 500+ employees and multiple regional hubs. This leadership role is based out of their Melville, NY facility and is responsible for overseeing a team of 70+ drivers and helpers covering Long Island, NYC boroughs, Westchester, and northern NJ.

You’ll manage nightly logistics operations, coach drivers and dispatchers, and lead all aspects of route optimization, fleet readiness, and performance tracking. It’s a great fit for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, customer-driven environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise, schedule, and support drivers, helpers, and dispatch staff
• Monitor nightly operations to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries
• Oversee fleet maintenance, safety protocols, and compliance standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with loading teams and day-shift operations
• Leverage routing software and data reports to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Deliver excellent service levels to clients and customers
• Lead safety briefings, training, and performance evaluations

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations
• Strong team leadership and communication skills
• Experience with TMS and routing systems
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety standards
• Availability to work overnight hours and occasional weekends/holidays
• Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
