Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Atlanta Area

Pay: $48 - $52 / hour

Duration: Contract to Hire

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with at least 4 years in systems application engineering to join our team. This role involves managing HVAC, security, and building systems installations across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in project coordination, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field engineering with strong communication skills to interface directly with customers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, and estimates.
• Lead issue resolution via RFIs, field surveys, and direct customer communications.
• Manage requests from customers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers efficiently.
• Review hardware submittals and assist with basic programming and controls equipment startup.
• Assist PM in contract documentation review, drawing coordination, and material procurement.
• Participate in system startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting processes.
• Use engineering tools such as Studio 360 and Prometheus apps proficiently.
• Serve as a lead field engineering resource across multiple projects from mobilization to closeout.
• Provide feedback on change orders and review field sketches.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and networking hardware configuration.
• Modify/update design drawings and maintain red-line documents.
• Coordinate with procurement on purchasing and monitor budget risks.
• Validate installation quality and safety; conduct audits and analysis.
• Act as primary point of contact for subcontractors during installation.
• Manage installation tracking and setup remote connectivity for customer sites.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Systems Application Engineer or similar role.
• Proven expertise in HVAC and security system installations and building automation technology.
• Strong knowledge of controls equipment, programming basics, and system commissioning.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing subcontractors onsite.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work directly with customers and teams.
• Familiarity with Studio 360, Prometheus, and other engineering software tools.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and drawings.
