Overview

A well-established manufacturer is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead operations in molding, machining, and assembly areas. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solution-oriented leader with experience in high-volume, high-variation manufacturing environments. This role is critical for meeting both short- and long-term production goals through strong team management and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities: People Management

• Lead hourly union employees to achieve production targets
• Conduct performance evaluations, attendance tracking, and recommend promotions or wage changes
• Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff

Production Fulfillment

• Monitor operations using KPIs and direct floor presence
• Ensure optimal workflow, labor use, machine uptime, and adherence to production schedules
• Audit labor and machine reporting for accuracy and efficiency

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce safety regulations and company policies
• Ensure proper use of PPE, good housekeeping, and proactive hazard detection
• Apply disciplinary measures when necessary

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Maintain clear communication with managers and peers on operational conditions
• Set and share goals with team members regularly

Process Improvement

• Identify and resolve process issues related to materials, quality, tools, or methods
• Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in unionized , high-volume , and high product variation settings
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices
