Job Title: Oil and Gas Accounts Payable Accountant

Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant with experience in the oil and gas industry to join our team. This role involves managing accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, and leveraging PakEnergy Software to maintain accurate and efficient financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Management: Process, code, and verify invoices related to drilling, production, and other oil and gas operations.
• Software : Utilize PakEnergy Software for invoice tracking, vendor management, and expense reporting.
• Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing AP aging reports, cost analysis, and other financial reports as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with field staff, procurement teams, and accounting leadership to streamline processes and improve AP workflows.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for vendor accounts and monitor outstanding balances to maintain accuracy.
• Cost Tracking: Track and allocate costs to wells, leases, and other projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in PakEnergy Software
• Strong understanding of joint interest billing (JIB), AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) tracking, and oil and gas accounting processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with other oil and gas accounting software.
