Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the performance of the manufacturing, processing and packaging equipment in a designated area of the plant. Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within limits of general practices and procedures, but where supervision is available to handle unusual situations . Work is performed under general guidance of the Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, and/or peers.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Performs scheduled maintenance on manufacturing machines and systems.
• Repairs the malfunction of machines, systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Routinely checks on machinery and systems for signs of fault in order to prevent or minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Initiates improvement on the functionality of machines and equipment to increase its efficiency.
• For more senior positions, might act as a team leader to ensure that the work meets agreed targets by directly overseeing team members.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices.
• Will become the subject matter expert at higher levels of job.
• Documents activities accordingly.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

• Required to apply advanced working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization. Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts, and proposes a course of action. Performs advance shop floor competencies.
• Works under general supervision. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other peers.
• May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
• Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.

Required:

• High school diploma/G.E.D required, Associate's or technical degree preferred.
• Related experience OR PBS requirements completed and pass assessment at appropriate level.
• Regular and predictable on-site attendance
• Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed
