Job Description

Job Title: Lifeguard

Location: 175 West Fifth Street, 1st Floor

SHIFTS: Scheduled shifts are six (6) to eight (8) to hours per day, five (5) days a week. Typical shifts are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Job Description:

• Applicants must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• An approved work permit will be required prior to the first day of employment if under the age of eighteen (18)
• AVAILABILITY: Must be available to work varied schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positions are part-time (up to 39 hours/week).
• Assignments and schedules are made based on the needs of the Parks Department.
• These are seasonal positions working from May through September.
• The ideal Lifeguard candidate will be a strong swimmer with experience working in a swim facility.
• Candidates who have participated in aquatic sports such as swim or water polo are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual abilities are also strongly desired.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must possess or be in the process of obtaining an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.
• The ideal Lifeguard candidate will be a strong swimmer with experience working in a swim facility.
• Candidates who have participated in aquatic sports such as swim or water polo are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual abilities are also strongly desired.
