Job Overview

Senior Infrastructure Technical Specialist (INTS4) with deep expertise in SAN Storage, VMware, Windows Administration, and Active Directory . This role is critical to supporting and optimizing the State’s enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical systems.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, hands-on administration experience, and the ability to work independently in a complex, multi-team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize SAN Storage platforms including Pure, IBM, Dell, and NetApp .
• Manage SAN connectivity to mainframe environments , ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Oversee and support VMware virtualized environments and enterprise server infrastructure.
• Perform advanced Windows Server and Active Directory administration , including GPOs, security, and user management.
• Execute system patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning with minimal downtime.
• Participate in on-call rotations for nightly and weekend maintenance and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation that supports system rewrites and long-term improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing clear status updates and technical guidance.
• Proactively learn new systems, processes, and business functionality as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in:
• SAN Storage administration (Pure, IBM, Dell, NetApp)
• SAN connectivity to mainframe systems
• VMware and virtual server environments
• Windows Server administration
• Active Directory administration
• System management processes, scripting, and utility programs
• Strong experience with enterprise patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting .
• Exceptional attention to detail , especially with technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills .
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment .

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as:
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
• SAN vendor-specific certifications
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be located in the Des Moines metro area .
• Onsite presence is required as needed .
• No relocation or remote-only candidates will be considered.
