Job Description

Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors handles cutting-edge, high-stakes cases in a variety of substantive legal fields. We successfully compete with firms many times larger in size due to our entrepreneurial DNA and our investments in technology and people. Our goal remains what it has always been - to transform the art of advocacy services by integrating professionals across a variety of disciplines - including consultants, accountants, investigators, and public relations experts- who partner with attorneys to create a fully integrated legal team dedicated to advocacy at the highest level.

The Consulting Group at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors was established in 1990 and serves a critical role in the firm’s advocacy. The consultants are responsible for the strategic, commercial, business, and industry analysis that shapes case strategy, informs client development, and enhances the firm’s financial expertise. Our team works collaboratively with the firm’s attorneys, investigators, and crisis management experts. The group is comprised of professionals with backgrounds in sectors such as financial services and public accounting. Unlike traditional consulting roles, our consultants work directly inside a law firm environment, shaping litigation strategy and client engagement from day one. The Consulting Group is recruiting full-time professionals in the New York office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Synthesize clear takeaways from complex sets of information into recommendations.
  • Review and identify documents relevant to a dispute or investigation.
  • Analyze financial transactions for a variety of situations, including the evaluation of business performance, economic motivations, valuation considerations, and fraud.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for clients and their boards – providing strategic recommendations, financial analysis, and case findings.
  • Prepare key witnesses for deposition or trial.
  • Balance multiple projects and responsibilities.

About You:

  • Work experience in an established accounting, consulting firm, or other professional services firm.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines and project deliverables.
  • MBA, CPA or strong financial background.
  • Experience with accounting, management reporting, and financial reporting systems.
  • Adept project management skills evidenced from prior work history.
  • Passion for advocacy with an ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to construct high-quality presentations and analysis for executives and company boards.
  • Ability to work effectively and directly with senior leadership.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel flexibility.

Opportunities:

The Consulting Group is recruiting professionals across two career tracks, each designed to provide meaningful, long-term professional growth at the firm:

Early-career professionals with 3–5 years of post-college or graduate school experience. This track provides opportunities to build deep expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and establish a long-term career at the firm.

Experienced professionals with 6–10 years of post-college or graduate school experience. This track offers the chance to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and develop into senior leadership roles over the course of a sustained career with the firm.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is 200K-400K. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications and skills.
