About the Role

A global design studio is looking for a visionary Design Director to join its Miami team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape award-winning interior and architectural projects across the globe. We are seeking a confident leader with exceptional creative direction, client management, and team leadership skills - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard design environment.

The Design Director will have successfully delivered projects covering Arch, ID and FF&E Design and Procurement. Working across a portfolio of luxury residential and hospitality clients. This is a full-time role based in the Miami studio.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

  • Drive design direction across multiple high-end, international projects.
  • Ensure creative output consistently reflects the highest level of design integrity and innovation.
  • Oversee project delivery from concept through completion
  • Maintain deep awareness of design trends and industry innovation.

Studio & Project Oversight

  • Lead a portfolio of 5–10 projects, ensuring profitability, programme, and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Own key project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and third-party coordination.
  • Work closely with Project Leaders and Senior Management to ensure seamless execution.

Client Engagement & Representation

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating design vision and project progress.
  • Lead presentations and represent the studio in high-stakes meetings.
  • Navigate and resolve project challenges with diplomacy and professionalism.

Business Development

  • Contribute to winning new work through pitches and relationship-building.
  • Provide input on fee proposals, deliverables, and resource planning.
  • Support broader strategic and commercial initiatives.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams with clarity, empathy, and creativity.
  • Play a key role in recruiting, training, and developing talent.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and ambitious studio culture.

You’ll Bring

  • A portfolio of luxury residential, hospitality, or mixed-use projects at the highest level.
  • Successfully delivered projects covering Architecture, Interior Design and FF&E Design and Procurement.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and delivering complex, design-led projects.
  • Strong commercial understanding and ability to manage contracts and budgets.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, positive mindset and a genuine passion for design.
