Job Title: Design Director

Location: NYC *in office 5x a week* open to offering relocation for the right candidate

Company Industry: Series B; fintech; real estate [payments and loyalty platform that enables consumers to earn rewards]

Salary: $150k - $200k *pending experience*

Must-Have Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in visual and creative design, with a strong foundation in web and product design; solid knowledge of product design, particularly app-based or digital product environments.
• A high level of visual craft, with a portfolio that demonstrates polished, detail-oriented work.
• Excitement to be hands-on in the craft - this is an executional design role, not just directional - and comfort operating as an IC.
• Design experience at a B2B, B2C, SaaS, or consumer tech startup.

Job Description:

The Role

We are looking for a Design Director with 5+ years of experience to shape visually compelling and brand-driven experiences. This role will own the Brand Marketing and Benefits Marketing teams and requires a strong blend of visual and creative design expertise within a product design context.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design efforts within the Brand Marketing & Benefits Marketing teams.
• Craft high-quality, visually compelling designs that elevate the brand’s digital presence.
• Design and iterate on marketing-focused products and websites with a strong emphasis on aesthetics and storytelling.
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, bridging the gap between product and brand/creative teams.
• Maintain and enhance design consistency while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
• Use Figma (or other relevant tools) to craft immersive storytelling experiences, incorporating motion and interaction design to enhance user engagement.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in visual and creative design, with a strong foundation in web and product design.
• Expertise in Figma and designing visually driven digital products and websites.
• Experience working with web design tools such as Framer or Webflow.
• Strong visual craft and brand sense, with the ability to tell compelling design stories.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams, especially with marketing, brand, and creative partners.
• A keen eye for detail, typography, color, and composition to create engaging user experiences.
• Motion design or animation skills to enhance brand storytelling.

Nice to Have

• Experience in branding, digital marketing, or creative direction.
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JS) to support implementation.
