Billing Clerk

Job Summary

The Billing Clerk will primarily be responsible for managing customer communication, handling COD payments, supporting PO and billing workflows, and providing cross-functional support in dispatch and phone coverage.

Essential Functions

• Process and collect Cash on Delivery (COD) payments.
• Assist in tracking and processing Purchase Orders (POs) for service and repairs.
• Coordinate with the billing team to ensure payment records are accurate and up to date.
• Monitor and manage the customer service inbox, ensuring timely responses.
• Follow up on all open tickets or inquiries to maintain excellent communication standards.
• Provide customers with status updates on service work or repairs.
• Answer incoming calls and assist customers with inquiries.
• Provide back-up coverage for dispatch team during breaks or absences.
• Become cross-trained in dispatching to support team flexibility.
• Support billing activities for Doggett Warehouse Solutions.
• Submit quotes and manage customer-specific portals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, further education in business or administration preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service, billing, or collections is a plus.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and able to learn industry-specific systems.
• Familiarity with dispatch systems and customer/vendor portals is highly desirable.

Physical Demands consist of sitting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, standing, walking, typing, talking, hearing and traveling.
